Harvard Museum of Natural History Exhibit – Saturday Collector Day 2015

In 2015, the Mineralogical & Geological Museum at Harvard University (aka MGMH or simply, The Harvard Museum) was invited to be the Collector of the Day at the 2015 Westward Look Show in Tucson, Arizona. In the lobby of the resort they put two cases of their fantastic minerals on exhibit.

Join us as Bob Jones, Show Host for What’s Hot In Tucson, sits down with Museum Curator Raquel Alonzo-Perez as they discuss the history of the museum, the collection and some of the individual pieces.

Saturday Collector Day 2007

Bryan Lees, President of Collector’s Edge in Golden, Colorado, was on hand all day Saturday to talk to visitors and answer questions from guests about his stunning collection of Colorado minerals.

Some of his pieces on display included his Amazonite with smoky quartz; Sphalerite, galena and amethyst; many different pieces of fantastic Rhodochrosite and some stunning pieces of Fluorite just to name a few.

Sunday Evening Program 2004

For the first time in history, the legends of mineral collecting gathered together in one room to serve as our panel for the 2004 Sunday Evening Program. The Golden Age of Minerals was the topic of discussion and each panel member took their turn at sharing their thoughts and stories on what they consider to be the finest period of mineral collecting.

This will be a standing-room only event, as these six mineral pioneers will have us laughing and reminiscing about The Golden Age of Minerals.

Join us at 6:30 PM for cocktails and snacks, followed by the main event at 7:30 PM.
